Advent Calendar

This year I put little notes in each pocket of the advent calendar (it is way too hard to find tiny presents and Jack didn't quite dig the candy that was in there the first few days). So on the note I put down something that we could do as a family that day. It has been hard to keep up with (with work, sick kids and a busy schedule) and we sometimes find ourselves doing 2 or 3 days in one just to catch up. But I really like this new tradition at our house. Some of the notes we've done so far: Make smores in the fireplace, Everyone colors a holiday picture with crayons, Make hot chocolate and read your favorite book, Read the Christmas Story, Take a Drive to look at Christmas lights. The drive around the neighborhood has been my favorite so far. We jumped in the car with our jammies after taking baths and rode around... "Feliz Navidad" came on the radio and Jack and I turned it up loud and shouted the song so loud that the people walking in the neighborhood could hear us.... it is fun to be goofy with the kids.
